Prem Singh Tamang is also known as PS Golay and was born on 5 February 1968 in the Nepali family to Kalu Singh Tamang and Dhan Maya Tamang. Singling Busty, West Sikkim is his native town. He completed his graduation from Darjeeling Government College in 1988. Before representing the field of politics, he worked as a teacher in a state school.
Aditya Tamang, his son is also a budding politician who is a member of Sikkim Legislative Assembly.
