Piyush Goyal was born on June 13, 1964, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His father’s name is Mr Ved Prakash Goyal. His mother’s name is Mrs Chandrakanta Goyal. He belongs to a family with a political background. He pursued his degree of Bachelors of Commerce and LLB from HR College. He has always been very studious. He has also done Charted Accountancy from Institute of Charted Accountants of India. During his college days, he participated in many leadership programmes at many Ivy Leagues university like Yale University and Prinston University. He married Mrs Seema Goyal with whom he has a son and a daughter. His wife is an active social worker.
He began his career as an Investment Banker. He served his duties on the board of India’s topmost commercial banks like SBI from 2001-2004. As a government nominee in Bank of Baroda from 2002-2004. As a BJP candidate, he was also elected as the candidate for Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra in 2010. Under the regulations of Mr Narendra Modi government, Piyush Goyal took charge as the Minister of Railways on September 3, 2017. Due to Mr Arun Jaitley’s medical conditions, he was also given additional temporary charge of Ministry of Finance from May 2018 to August 2018. Currently, he is serving as the Minister of Railways and Commerce in Government of India. He is also the Deputy Leader of Rajya Sabha.
