Capt. Amarinder Singh was born to Maharaja Yadavindra Singh and Maharani Mohinder Kaur of Patiala who belong to the Phulkian dynasty. His primary education was completed from the finest schools in the country, namely Welham Boys’ School, Lawrence School Sanawar & Doon School, Dehradun. He married Parneet Kaur and is a father of a son, Raninder Singh and a daughter, Jai Inder Kaur. His wife Parneet Kaur is also an enriched politician and served as MP and was a Minister of External Affairs in Punjab for five years
Political Career of Shri Capt. Amarinder Singh
Singh is the current and the 15th CM of Punjab and started his political career with Congress in 1980. He resigned from Congress as a protest against Congress for army actions against the Sikhs during Operation Blue Star. He joined the Shiromani Akali Dal and was elected as a State Legislature.
