Vijayender Pal Singh Badnore was born on 12 May 1948 in Badnor, Rajasthan. His father is Mr Gopal Singh. His mother is Mrs Raj Kanwar Nathwad. He married Mrs Alka Singh on 25th November 1978. They have a son and a daughter. He completed his education in Bachelor’s of English and Business Management from Mayo College, Ajmer.
Before becoming a politician he also had an experience of working in a corporate world. He worked as Management Cadre in Escorts Ltd from 1970-77. On June 17, 2010, he was elected as the member of Rajya Sabha. Earlier he was also the member of 13th Lok Sabha and 14th Lok Sabha of the Indian Parliament. He belongs to Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He was also the representative of Bhilwara constituency of Rajasthan. On August 17, 2016, he was appointed as the 28th and current Governor of Punjab.
