Biswa Bhusan Harichandan is an Indian politician. He was born on August 3, 193. Apart from being a politician, he is also a lawyer and a writer. He wrote many books such as Paika Mutiny, Mahasangramar, Marubataas, Mahanayak and Sangarsha Sarinahin – his autobiography.
Before the formation of Janta Party in 1977, he joined Bhartiya Janta Party in 1971 and became BJP’s National Executive Member and its state secretary. He was elected to Odisha State Legislative Assembly five times. During the elections of 1997, he was elected for the third time from Bhubaneswar central seat and continued to be a member of the same constituency three times in a row. At the time coalition government of BJP- BJD in 2004, he was also the cabinet minister. Currently, he is serving as the 23rd Governor of Andhra Pradesh since July 2019.
