Bhagat Singh Koshyari was born on 17 June 1942 in Palandhura Chetabgarh, Bhageshwar district, Uttarakhand. His father’s name is Mr Gopal Singh Koshyari. His mother’s name is Mrs Motima Devi. Currently, he is serving as the 22nd Governor of Maharashtra. He belongs to Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He holds a degree of masters in English from Almora College, Almora. As a student, he was the general secretary of Almora College’s student union from 1961-62.
In his early stages of life, he was a teacher and a journalist. For a few years, he had worked as a lecturer at Raja Intercollege, Uttar Pradesh.
He is also the founder and managing editor of Parvat Piyush. It is a weekly publish from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand since 1975. He began his political career by joining Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His experience with RSS helped him to serve as the National Vice President of BJP and the party’s 1st state for Uttarakhand.
