Shri Ram Nath Kovind is an Indian Politician and 14th President of India after winning the presidential election in July 2017. He was a lawyer by profession and also served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 before he became the President of India holding the highest post. Kovind is the second president to be a Dalit leader and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). From 1994 to 2006, he became a prominent member of the parliament. Shri Ram Nath Kovind changed the perspective of working from the beginning to reaching the apex court and parliament. He is a great leader and works for equality in society and the integrity of the nation.

Personal life & Education
Shri Kovind was born on October 1, 1945, in a small village located in the Kanpur a district in UP. Belonging to a modest family means, his beginning was humble. Kovind got his education from school and college in Kanpur. He has attained a degree in Commerce and LLB. He was married in the year 1974 to Savita Kovind. They have two children, a son and a daughter named, Prashant Kumar and Swati Kovind
Public Life of Shri Ram Nath
Shri Kovind enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi as an advocate in 1971. He served as Counsel of the Union Government from 1977 to 1979 in Delhi High Court. Kovind became the Advocate on record and the standing counsel for the Center government.
He effectively underpins the inclusion of ladies in nation-building and has been reliably working for the general public to make more open doors for the more vulnerable segments, particularly the differently-abled and people belonging to weaker sections. Political Career as BJP Member
Ram Nath Kovind became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the year 1991 and later became the president of the BJP Dalit Morcha from 1998 to 2002. Besides he was also the president of the All-India Koli Samaj. Shri Ram Nath Kovind also worked as the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He gave his ancestral home in Derapur for the functioning of the RSS. He participated in the two assembly elections for the constituencies Ghatampur and Bhogniour by getting tickets from BJP but unfortunately lost both the elections.
Member of Rajya Sabha
Shri Kovind was elected as a member of the Upper house of the Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh in April 1994. In a time span of two 12 years, it means two consecutive terms he served till March 2006. Ram Nath Kovind got extensive experience as he was working in the Parliamentary committees for years. While he was a member of parliament he visited various nations, such as Nepal, Thailand, Pakistan, Singapore, Switzerland, France, Germany, UK, USA. Being a member of the Indian delegation who went to UN general assembly in the year 2003 he addressed the assembly on 22 October 2003.
Governor of Bihar
Ram Nath Kovind was elected as the Governor of Bihar on August 8, 2015, by the serving President of India. On 16 August 2015, Kovind took oath as the 36th Governor of Bihar under the actions of Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Iqbal Ahmad Ansari. While governor of the Bihar, Ram Nath Kovind received great appreciation for having values and working to eliminate the irregularities in the system. He made sure that the promotion of undeserving teachers and mismanagement of funds should be eliminated from the Universities of Bihar.
He completely changed the working for the selection or appointment of the Vice-chancellors in the state Universities of Bihar by adding various reforms as well as including the use of modern technology to have more transparency in the system. For this remarkable work, he gained huge respect from the various leaders of political parties.
On June 20, 2017, Kovind resigned as Governor to pursue his campaign for the Presidential election of India.
Ascent to Presidency
Before becoming the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind attained great achievement of appreciation for being the best governor. It leads to shine his identity as one of the best candidates for the presidential election in 2017. So as expected he secured approximately two-third majority votes from the members of federal, state and UT legislature that lead a path for him to become the president of India. Till December 2019, he visited 28 nations to deliver the message of peace, prosperity, and harmony to build strong bonds among them.
As President of India, he got various highest state honours from different nations, namely Madagascar, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Croatia, Bolivia and the Republic of Guinea.
