Kalraj Mishra was born on July 1, 1941, in Malikpur, Ghazipur. He was born in the Brahmin, a middle-class family. His father’s name is Mr Ramagya Mishra, who was a teacher by profession. He pursued his MA degree from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi. On May 7, 1963, he married Mrs Satyawati Mishra. They have three children, two sons, and a daughter.
He has a keen interest in politics since childhood. In the year 1955, he became the Swayamsewak of RSS. Later in 1963, he became Purnkalik Pracharak of RSS. The day he acclaimed Sangh Pracharak was the first time he gets elected as the National President of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha. As he associates with Bhartiya Janta Party, he was also the member of parliament from Deoria constituency in Uttar Pradesh from 2014-2019. Previously he was also the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, but as for now he is serving as the 22nd Governor of Rajasthan since September 9, 2019
